OFFICE OF THE HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS
06 NOVEMBER 2013 COMMITTEE ON THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
The Government of Uganda is committed to enhancing the promotion and protection of human rights through the negotiation of a National Human Rights Action Plan.
A recently published report by the Uganda Commission on Human Rights and the UN Human Rights Office proposes a range of measures to provide legal protection and redress for victims of the conflict in northern Uganda.
The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique review mechanism for human rights information in all UN Member States. The UPR is part of the Human Rights Council and provides an opportunity for each country to report on the measures it has taken to improve the human rights situation, as well as to fulfill its obligations in this area.
